Leveraging Meeting Graph, Tempo Smart Calendar Introduces Smart Address Book Baked Directly into the Mobile Calendar

New version of Tempo anticipates the people users are meeting with each week, refreshes UI for iOS7, adds search, and improves speed and calendar sync


MENLO PARK, Calif. – October 30, 2013 – Today, Tempo AI, creator of the breakthrough personal productivity and assistant app for iOS, Tempo Smart Calendar, is announcing its Smart Address Book, a new feature within the app that makes it quick and easy to contact all of the people that matter, both in personal and professional life. The Smart Address Book is built on the user’s “meeting graph” and is composed of the most relevant contacts and up-to-date contact details, surfacing information at the right time based on upcoming events and meetings. Tempo’s Smart Address Book automatically creates and maintains contacts from users’ connected data sources, including a user’s iPhone Contacts app, Outlook, Gmail and other linked email accounts.
Current address books are static lists, adding little context around recent or upcoming meetings and conversations. With the calendar as a foundation, Tempo is in a unique position to use artificial intelligence and powerful search to reimagine communication. Tempo automatically creates contact cards that include an individual’s contact details, company background, LinkedIn, Facebook and photos. Tempo neatly organizes these contacts in a user’s calendar for the upcoming week with prepopulated lists sorted by people, companies, and events. It’s another assistant-like feature that helps users quickly and easily communicate and network with all of the people that matter most to them.

Beyond the address book, Tempo has also added calendar-wide search, which was a highly requested feature. Tempo also has an all-new look and feel, with iOS7-inspired flat design that seeks to keep the familiarity of traditional calendars, while continuing to add layers of AI-driven information and interactions that feel natural to the user. The UI refresh has a cleaner layout, with more information in each screen presented in an easy to read format.
This most recent version of Tempo Smart Calendar, available to iOS7 users, also includes:

  • Speed: Faster across the board. 
  • Background sync:  Improved updating with your connected calendars.
  • More smart locations: Tempo recognizes new types of locations including fitness centers, theaters, subway stations, parks etc. Just put the name of the business or venue in the title and Tempo finds the location, directions and drive time.
  • More learning: Improvements around one-tap flight status and conference calls. 
  • Instant events edits: Now edit an event immediately after it is created.
  • More related emails for Hotmail and Outlook: Now, Tempo can scan the “sent” box in Hotmail and Outlook. Just connect a Hotmail or Outlook account to Tempo via IMAP instead of POP.
