German Ambassador visits Ferrari

There was a guest of honour today in Maranello as Germany’s Ambassador to Italy, Reinhard Schafers was received by Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo. The Ambassador visited the Ferrari factory, including both the road car and racing sections.

“I was very impressed with what I was able to see today, “ the Ambassador told www.ferrari.com. “I tried to understand at first hand what Ferrari means, as it’s a really popular brand in Germany, a country with a very important car industry. Of course, in the days of Schumacher, interest was at its peak, but even today, the Prancing Horse represents something special for my countrymen.”.

Back in the day, the Testa Rossa was the first Ferrari to catch the eye of the future German ambassador to Italy. “In the Fifties and Sixties it was very unusual to see Ferraris on our roads, so for me, I first came into contact with the world of the Reds through the television: I was and still am a big sports fan, so whenever I can I watch the Formula 1 Grands Prix. However, I was really struck by the Testa Rossa and I like it a lot.”
