Berlin: 4K technology TV sets represent the next market frontier for manufacturers. Consumer acceptance of 4K Ultra High Definition TV will depend on the availability of content that clearly displays the superiority of the 4K viewing experience. In order to ensure that content from any source is up-scaled to near 4K quality, TCL will be introducing the Technicolor 4K Image Certified HDMI input port into its 4K UHDTV’s as of early 2014.
The digital content consumers enjoy on TV screens is no longer video centric. Today consumers expect Best In Class entertainment experience from their TV sets. Technicolor 4K Image Certified Port detail enhancement technology brings picture quality to life by detecting and processing image details in any video sequence. Today’s picture quality can appear blocky and lacking detail when displayed on a large screen due to the difference between the source and the TV resolutions. This effect is especially noticeable on TV screens measuring 50” and above. The detail enhancement technology has embedded digital processing to preserve and sharpen video displayed on larger screens. The result is a TV picture with outstanding fine detail preserved regardless of the content or display.(www.Technicolor.com/certified)

‘With this 4K Image Certified Port program, Technicolor is solving the 4K content issue for viewing on 4K/UHD televisions. We are especially excited to bring together with TCL this program inside the 4K UHDTV sets’ explained Manuele Wahl, SVP, Technology Licensing for Technicolor.
