American Airlines brings new levels of luxury to transatlantic travel with introduction of new long-range Boeing 777

American Airlines is offering its long-distance passengers the chance to be among the first to travel with an American airline on board the sleek new extended range version of the Boeing 777-300 aircraft.

Initially, three aircraft are being used, and are operating on routes between London and New York, Sao Paulo and Dallas/Fort Worth.vered throughout the rest of 2013. These new flagship craft will be progressively introduced on the above routes, as well as between London Heathrow and Los Angeles, which will see its maiden flight using the new aircraft on June 12.

The planes are the first to be delivered in American’s new corporate livery, so carry the all-over silver look which has become a trademark of the airline throughout its 40 years of operation.

Mood lighting welcomes passengers on board the craft, while American will also become one of the first airlines to operate continuous wi-fi all the way across the Atlantic.
Customers also have an unrivalled choice of up to 700 hours of on-board entertainment, to help make all journeys simply fly by.

An industry-leading relaxing experience offered to Business Class passengers is enhanced by the provision of fully lie-flat seats, with all enjoying aisle access.
In premium classes, meanwhile, customers can experience levels of catering usually associated with fine dining, with a wine tasting menu and ’amuse bouches’ available in Premium cabins.

In addition, premium passengers also have use of their own walk-up bar, offering a service of snacks and sweets.

“The new aircraft are giving American’s fleet additional network flexibility, while delivering increased efficiency and better operating economics,” said Tim Ahern, Vice-President, New York and International of American Airlines.

The new planes’ entry into service has coincided with American upgrading the amenities and service available in its First and Business Class seating, including complimentary leading-brand skincare and cosmetics products, and new menus to further accentuate the emphasis on recreating a fine dining experience on board.
