Golan Heights, Israel (August, 13, 2013): Israeli author Maria Alony announces the publication of “Sweet Pete and the Magical Cookie Jar” on Amazon.com. The ebook will be available for free starting today through the Kindle store. Written for the baby-3 audience, the book tells the story of a bunny named Pete who loves sweets above all else, much to the dismay of his parents.

During the story, Pete is tempted by a huge table of delicious desserts and yummy candies. He has his every wish granted for more and more delectable treats by a magic jar. The fun ends, however, when he learns his lesson the hard way. Toddlers will identify quickly with the bunny’s plight and understand it is wiser to eat fewer sweets.

Maria Alony is a writer, educator, and instructor of literature and the Hebrew language. She is a member of the Society of children’s book writers & illustrators. “My children’s book is inspired by my wonderful two-year old son, fairy tales, and the children I teach.” Using her classroom experience and personal knowledge, Alony aims to help children cope with the common problem of unhealthy eating. She hopes the book will enrich their imaginations and entertain them with Pete’s charming story!
