Islay, Jura & Colonsay walking holiday in Scotland 20-27 July, 2 places
Due to a cancellation About Argyll Walking Holidays now have 2 places available in the hiking holiday to the Hebridean Islands Islay, Jura & Colonsay from 20th July to 27th July.
This is a wonderful opportunity to explore 3 very different islands of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, each with something special to offer. The islands were featured in the recent BBC series “Hebrides: Islands on the Edge”.
The 8-day guided holiday combines exploring the islands and their history on foot with a few ‘wee drams’ of the “Water of Life” Islay’s world-famous malt whiskies.
Walking is a good way to see the beauty of Islay, Jura and Colonsay without bumping into masses of tourists. The About Argyll guide will take the participants into some of the best and most dramatic of the scenery of the west coast of Scotland: cliffs, hills, ancient chapels and sandy beaches with a long and colourful history.
Islay’s natural resources – fertile soil, extensive peat bogs and soft peaty water – mixed with the sea breeze and traditional distilling- produce some of the finest malt whiskies. There will be a tour of one of the eight distilleries on Islay and whisky in the evening.
