Virgin Active Health Clubs Support Prudential RideLondon

Virgin Active, the UK’s leading health club operator with over 100 clubs nationwide, has been named as the official health club partner to Prudential RideLondon, the new world-class festival of cycling.

Developed by the Mayor of London and his agencies, the event will take place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August 2013.

Virgin Active currently runs daily Group Cycle classes in all of its global sites and notes that the class – in which you can burn in excess of 700 calories – is the most popular on the timetable.

To celebrate the partnership and get more members cycling this summer, Virgin Active will be offering a number of cycle-related incentives including the opportunity to win places for the sold-out Prudential RideLondon-Surrey100 and guided ‘Ride-Outs’ from select clubs during June and July.

Virgin Active founder Sir Richard Branson commented, “It’s fantastic Virgin Active is supporting such a wonderful event – and it’s perfect for the whole family. Cycling is a fun way to get active and I now try to ride in each place I visit. This will be an exciting way to see London and the staff in our clubs will be on hand to offer pre-race advice and tips. 2012 provided us with so many memorable sporting moments – moments that inspired a nation to get going. At Virgin Active we’re committed to continuing this legacy and partnering with Prudential RideLondon is a great way for us to do so.”

Hugh Brasher, Prudential RideLondon Event Director added: “Virgin Active is a fantastic partner for this event; helping us prepare cyclists of varied levels for their own personal challenges while discovering the multiple benefits and enjoyment of the sport. Together we’re helping to mobilise our nation through the love of cycling"
