Avaya Networking Solution Enables Mission Critical Networking Infrstructure Leveraging Avaya’s Unique Technology, RSMLT

Tokyo, JAPAN - Avaya, a global provider of business communications and collaboration systems and services, today announced that Central Japan International Airport Co., Ltd, (Centrair Airport), the main international gateway for the central region of Japan as well as a key international hub airport in Japan, has deployed an Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8800 solution to support the data networking requirements in the airport.

In recent years, Centrair Airport has seen increased competition from airports in North Asia and globally, with a series of mega-international airports being established, and significant expansion of existing airports. To provide added convenience to airport staff and users, economic benefits and reassurance around the security of the airport’s services, Centrair Airport needed a mission critical network infrastructure to deliver stable operations and enhanced reliability at the airport. And to strengthen its own competitiveness with both domestic and international airports, the airport needed to reduce its own Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for its data network.

Centrair Airport selected the Avaya ERS 8800 Series for its high reliability, realized by Avaya’s unique Routed Split Multi-Link Trunking (RSMLT) technology, which provides an active-active router concept to core SMLT networks. This means that the network will continue to function in the event of outage, failure or upgrade to any of the software or hardware components, ensuring airport services can run smoothly at all times. Avaya has a proven record in airport deployments around the world, including delivering reduced TCO at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, one of the busiest airports in Europe.
