New E-Book “By 17” Answers Newtown Shooting Questions
Scottsdale, AZ (January 30, 2013) - The first chapter entitled The Flat Brown Stetson, in the new E-Book, “By 17”, by author Francis Bennett gives us an inside look into the mind of a boy who is about to kill with a gun. This is the first of eight stories in this fictional memoir that investigates how the young mind learns to deal with trauma. The shooter’s thoughts at the end of the story reveal how such a shocking atrocity could happen in an otherwise law-abiding society.
The Sandy Hook School shooting has re-ignited the gun control debate. The NRA contends it is the shooter not the gun. Senator Feinstein believes that assault weapons are the cause. Many senators blame our mental health system. The Flat Brown Stetson reveals the root cause of wanton violence by revealing what is going on in the minds of troubled young men. Every student between the age of 12 and 21 should be given this story to read and discuss.
”By 17” is a blend of the humorous and the sentimental, the devastating and the hopeful. Sue McGee, the reviewer at The Bookbag in England puts it like this; "Earlier this week I had one of those dreadful days which leave you wound up and cross and I reached for a book to relax with. I didn’t think about it - I picked up “By 17” because I knew that I would feel better for reading it. I did. Crabber worked his magic in these eight, beautifully written stories... ~ The Bookbag U.K.
