Percy Hughes and Roberts Solicitors announce charity will scheme for November

Birkenhead-based solicitors PHR Solicitors are taking part in Write a Will Month this November, and will be waiving the usual fee of £180 for writing wills, instead asking clients to make a donation to local cause The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

Wills will be written for a minimum donation of £100 per single will to the charity, which provides cancer care to 27,000 patients each year at its Wirral centre, as well as at a number of chemotherapy units across the Liverpool region.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only charity of its type in the area and employs nearly 900 people. As well as providing essential care to cancer patients, the charity also helps to fund research into new treatment.

One in three people are diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, meaning that most of us are likely to be impacted by the disease at some point, and The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity provides essential support to patients and their loved ones.

Percy Hughes and Roberts solicitors Emily Dejon-Stewart and Carol Edwards will be writing wills for clients participating in the scheme, and commenting on Write a Will Month Miss Dejon-Stewart highlighted the peace of mind which comes with the preparation of such a vital legal document.

“By taking part in the scheme, people will ensure that their affairs are up-to-date and in order,” she said.

Every year many people pass away without a will in place, or with an out of date will which has not been updated following changes to financial and family circumstances, and this often puts grieving relatives and loved ones in a difficult position.

Those interested in taking part in Write a Will Month can call Carol Edwards on 0151 666 9090, quoting “Clatterbridge will month”.
