Lean Online Training Course for Hospitals Released by Leonardo Group

Leonardo Group Americas LLC is pleased to announce the launch of its third online training course, Value Stream Mapping in the OR. This is a 15-lesson course designed for hospital staff members that covers all of the basic elements of value stream mapping in a hospital environment. This course is accredited and earns participants 3.1 Contact Hours. The lively format includes hands-on engagements and online knowledge checks at the end of each lesson. This course is being provided through an educational partnership between Corexcel and Leonardo Group Americas LLC. Upon completing this course, staff will be well equipped to participate in Value Stream Mapping projects based on Lean principles. One of the first steps in a Lean initiative is the development of several Value Stream Maps, flowcharts that document all of the processes required to deliver a product or service from start to finish. A hospital will have many different value streams that will need to be developed, including the work done in the OR. The course discusses the steps to creating a Current State map, a Future State map, and a Master Plan to achieve the future state.
