DETROIT, Mich., October 25, 2012 —EO Detroit recently hosted EO Thrive 25, a regional entrepreneurial event celebrating EO’s 25th anniversary and featuring once-in-a-lifetime experiences, dynamic speakers and peer-to-peer experience sharing.  The event, which was held at Motor City Casino from Sept. 12-14, was orchestrated and chaired by EO Detroit board member and Concorde Investment Services President and CEO Jason Kavanaugh.

“We ‘imported’ more than 200 entrepreneurs, representing 17 cities from coast-to-coast to Detroit last month,” said Kavanaugh.  “We showed our peers nationwide that the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and thriving in Michigan.”

The event, which was themed “transformation,” began with two separate once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Attendees had an opportunity to participate in either a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) or Selfridge National Guard Base interactive event.  The DEA participants received assault training and were able to engage in fully armed training raids with DEA agents.   The Selfridge National Guard group got a tour of the base and participated in inflight refueling missions for A-10
Warthogs.

Bill Ford Jr. addressed the group in a casual Q&A format from the atrium of Ford Field. Former Domino’s President and CEO and current University of Michigan Athletic Director David Brandon shared his life experiences, his process for achieving greatness and his vision for the Universit of Michigan’s Athletic Program.  EO Detroit rounded out the whos’ who list of national business speakers with Jack Daly, Joe Carruso, Sasha Strauss, Mark Moses and John Drury.

“We were proud to show off both our city and our community leaders,” said Kavanaugh. “Our guests were impressed with what they heard and saw.  My only regret is that we did not send each of them home with a Tigers jersey so that they could support their newly adopted city when the World Series begins next week. Go Tigers.”
