Consumer Alert: Fraudulent Letters and Cheques

WEBWIRE

It has come to Purolator’s attention that fraudulent letters and cheques bearing Purolator’s logo and name are being sent to customers and members of the public informing them that they have been selected to participate as a mystery shopper in a paid consumer research program in their area of residence.

The fraudulent letter details the “task” assigned, asks that the recipient fills out a “Customer Service Evaluation Tool” and to call a telephone number to activate the cheque.

Please be advised that these letters do not originate from Purolator. Purolator does not send out letters of such nature nor cheques to customers or members of the public for such programs.

If you have received such a letter and cheque, please report it to your local police agency and/or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. You may wish to refer to this link for more information.
