John Clark MINI Holds Design Competition For Local Schools

WEBWIRE

Aberdeen-based auto retailer John Clark MINI is offering local teenagers the chance to showcase their design talent by designing a MINI roof.

Open to all schools in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, the competition is aimed at children between the ages of 14 and 16 and invites them to design a MINI roof with an environmental theme. Winners will have their design recreated and fitted to the roof of a MINI.

Teams of up to 4 students will have their creations judged and the lucky five finalists will be required to deliver a presentation to a panel of four judges at the John Clark MINI showroom in Aberdeen. At the end of the evening, the winner will be announced and will be invited to attend the unveiling of the MINI sporting their roof design at the Skills Scotland event at Aberdeen Exhibition Centre on 20th November.

The competition not only allows pupils interested in design, marketing or the automotive industry to demonstrate their talent, but also raises awareness among young people about the importance of environmentally friendly motoring.

Group Web & Online Marketing Executive, Tom Ogilvie said, “We feel it’s important that young people are aware of the efforts within the automotive industry to produce cleaner vehicles. We’re looking forward to seeing the designs and are delighted to be participating in the Skills Scotland event.”

Submissions should be sent to julie.stewart@john-clark.co.uk in Powerpoint format no later than 12th October. Finalists will be notified on 29th October. For more information, please visit the John Clark MINI website or the John Clark Motor Group Facebook page.
