A Beginning Look into Excel University: Volume 1

Seal Beach, California, United States, September 13, 2012- Jeff Lenning, founder of Click Consulting, Inc., and author of Excel University: Microsoft Excel Training for CPAs and Accounting Professionals: Book 1 has shown many accounting professionals and CPAs how to utilize Microsoft Excel more efficiently.  Excel University: Volume 1 explores the features, functions and techniques that improve the productivity of accountants.  Jeff Lenning focuses on many features and functions that improve the efficiency of recurring tasks.  One simple example is the use of the Table object to store data, since Tables automatically expand to include any additional rows next period.  Chapter 8, Tables, is an eye-opener for those that have not yet explored this amazing Excel feature.
 
Jeff Lenning makes it easy to understand the various terms and references used throughout the Excel Series, and explains the key terms making it easy to follow for users at any level.  Chapter 11 discusses better summing, that is, summing without the SUM function.  The detail-oriented book is appropriate for beginners as well as advanced professionals who utilize Excel often.  Evaluating one’s own skill level and goals will best dictate the way each individual works through the series. Professionals who utilize the tools and resources that Lenning has provided will love the improved efficiency and productivity of their own Excel development tasks.
 
The Excel for accounting book was written to reach those individuals that Jeff won’t have an opportunity to meet in a CPE session.  The book concentrates on Excel for Windows and offers a hands-on approach to learning.  It includes narrative, screenshots, and video content; Excel practice files, and exercises that show the practical application of the items are provided for each chapter.  The author presents the topics in a sequential manner, and includes Excel accounting instructions that will prove to be useful for many accountants, regardless of what type of work performed.  Even though many accounting professionals may not be able to attend an advanced Excel training session, Lenning believes that, “if you work through the entire series and complete all of the exercises, you’ll be an Excel expert.”
