TietoEnator and Personec to supply Gothenburg’s new HR system

29 June 2006, The City of Göteborg (Gothenburg) has signed a deal with TietoEnator for the supply of an IT system to manage the city’s HR administration. The new system will be supplied by Personec. The agreement is an open-ended contract that either party is entitled to terminate. The first stage, which involves implementation of the system, is expected to be completed by the end of 2008, and is valued at around EUR 5.3 million.

“We have followed a very stringent procurement process, in line with legislation concerning public sector procurement. We chose TietoEnator and Personec because they were able to offer the best balance of quality, price and usability, and because they are a recognised leader in this area. We look forward to working together to make our HR and payroll processes more efficient,” says Lisskulla Lindström, head of HR for the City of Göteborg.

The new system solution will manage salaries for some 45,000 employees of the City of Göteborg, which makes it the biggest payroll and HR-related purchase of 2006. The solution is to support the city’s goal of managing HR in a modern, process-oriented manner. Web-based reporting and follow-up functions, often referred to as “self-service”, will therefore be introduced for city employees.
