EPFMC Triple P Program Equips Parents With Positive Parenting Tools

Los Angeles, CA - Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center (EPFMC) announces the launch of a new website page for its Triple P, Positive Parenting Program. The page provides insight into how the EPFMC Triple P Program assists parents who are looking for help to solve their children’s behavioral health problems. Triple P is an early intervention program that can treat emotional problems in children as young as infants.

The EPFMC Triple P Program works with the entire family to help the members heal. A child’s behavioral health problem is the family’s problem, and for the child to heal, the family must heal. Parents learn new skills that increase their knowledge of how to communicate what they want and manage disruptive behaviors. This increases their confidence in their parenting skills. Children learn new skills for expressing their needs, reducing their tendency to act out inappropriately.

Triple P began in Australia over thirty years ago, and since then has become one of the most well-documented programs for treating children’s behavioral health issues effectively. The program has been implemented and adapted around the world, with studies finding success across cultures, languages, and economic groups.

Treatment focuses on five progressive levels of intervention. It’s a highly flexible program that enables each family to adapt and use only what its members need to create change. Not every family needs all five levels of treatment. The key is a focus on making small changes to achieve big results.

EPFMC is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves uninsured and underinsured families in downtown and South Los Angeles.
