VICTORIA, Australia June, 2012 – Australia’s hottest urban label, Spader Clothing, has just kicked off a national social media campaign to find the country’s best ‘Spader’, someone who SETS trends online instead of following them.

The Canberra-based street label, worn by celebrities such as billboard-topping rapper Jay-Z, NBA legend Patty Mills and Nacho Pop from So You Think You Can Dance, is on a quest to identify the best online trend-setters in the country and is offering a prize package valued at $3000 to the winner.

The package includes a collection of Spader winter clothing and their very own Facebook contest to promote their chosen school, business or charity using social media platforms. Small daily prizes are also up for grabs.

John Ruman, Director of Spader Clothing, says ‘Spaders’ are passionate, driven individuals who exude confidence and a positive influence online.

“Across social media platforms, a ‘Spader’ is someone who has the admiration of their peers,” Mr Ruman said. “‘Spaders’ are inspiring. They have power, credibility, influence and are on a mission to help those around them better themselves.”

Spader Clothing has teamed up with social media powerhouse, Sticki Digital Media, to execute a one week campaign to identify Australia’s top Spader. CEO of Sticki Digital Media, Stephenie Rodriguez, said business owners simply cannot afford to avoid promoting their business online any longer.

“Over 11.3 million Australians are on Facebook every month – there is no better place to share a good story or generate interest in your business,” Ms Rodriguez said. www.stickidigitalmedia.com.au/.

“We’ve helped global food and beverage brands like Caffe Ritazza realise the cascade of positive benefits and opportunities that social channels can offer, but the great thing about social media is that you don’t have to have a budget like Coca-Cole to have a powerful online presence.”

“We can help any business achieve a social media voice, engage customers online and become a ‘Spader’ themselves through our package of business solutions and industry-leading Shoutlet technology,” she said.

Spaders are encouraged to follow #socialspader on Twitter and @stickidm to win prizes. Entries to the competition should detail, in 25 words or less, why they are the top ‘Spader’ and be placed on www.facebook.com/Stickidigitalmedia. Entries for the grand prize close at 5pm on June 4, 2012.

Sticki Digital Media is a Sydney-based consultancy and a leader in social media business solutions.
