Tampa Bay Buccaneers Inspire A Single Mom Weekly Mother’s Day Giveaway
The generosity of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers inspired the first annual Single Mom Weekly Mother’s Day Giveaway. The Buccaneers provided a citizen in need with a brand new Ford Focus. It just so happens that the citizen was also a single mom.
Harvey, LA, May 5, 2012-- The challenges of many single moms are numerous. The question on everybody’s mind is how do we meet the needs of single moms who need help? Just ask the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A very grateful single mom recently became the proud owner of a new Ford Focus, courtesy of the Tampa Bay NFL team. The Road to Success program for the citizens of Florida in need is in its third consecutive year.
“We wanted to start a similar program for the single moms of Louisiana,” said Wendy Webb, Marketing Director of Single Mom Weekly. “The percentage of children living in a single parent household averages 32% nationwide. The percentage jumps to 43% when we consider Louisiana. Our single parents need support and that’s what we’re here to do.”
Similar to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Road to Success program, Single Mom Weekly’s sole mission is to help single moms and single dads to find the resources they need to balance their lives and rear happy, healthy kids.
The economic outlook in Louisiana makes it very difficult for single moms to get ahead. “Many struggling moms contact us in need of just basic resources to make ends meet,” said Webb. "We ran a pilot giveaway program a few weeks ago and the response was so overwhelming, that we just couldn’t miss out on recognizing our single moms on their day – Mother’s Day. With so many single moms working with budget constraints, we decided to go with versatile contest prizes in the form of gift cards and digital products that help single moms learn ways to earn from home in their spare time.
The effects of the economy have taken its toll on many in Louisiana and single moms are hit especially hard. In order for single moms to create balanced, fulfilling lives for themselves and their children, it is essential to stay connected to organizations that can provide the different types of support they need. Each week, Single Mom Weekly reaches single mothers through its twice weekly e-newsletter.
“We’re growing rapidly and hope to be able to help more single parents to learn the skills they need to balance all aspects of life as we continue to expand our services,” said Webb.
