Mums on Facebook Unite to Share Recipes and Creative ways to use Qubies Baby Food Trays

MELBOURNE Australia April, 2012 – Qubies – the convenient upside down ice cube tray – has sparked recipe creativity Australia-wide as mums share their unique uses for the clever food storage container. The unique design – an upside down ice cube tray which creates perfect 30mL cubes -  allows mums to experiment with many different variations as they prepare baby food purees in advance. Mums have reported using separate Qubies baby food trays to store various foods, juices and sauces and then mixing and matching to ensure their children get a new, healthy and exciting meal each time.

Banana and Peach Sunshine (suitable for babies 6 months and up) combines cubes of bananas, peaches and rice cereal into one delicious meal that bubs are enjoying; and mums enjoy knowing they’re providing their loved ones with nutritious home made meals with minimal fuss and effort. Qubies was originally invented for freezing and storing breast milk and baby purees but creative mums have since found more ‘adult’ uses for the upside-down ice cube tray. Michelle has printed all the recipes from the Qubies website www.qubies.com.au and usually stores single ingredients such as fruits, vegies or meat purees in their own separate Qubies tray. Michelle finds this easiest because she can then simply grab the desired ingredients in the perfectly portion-controlled cubes and reheat them for William’s meals.

“I put a fruit cube in with his yoghurt he has at lunchtime and for dinner at night I get three different vegetable cubes out and heat it with one meat cube before bringing the temperature of his meal down with some frozen grated cheese,” Michelle shares.

“Starting William on solids and going through all the different stages is made much less stressful and manageable with Qubies,” Michelle said.
