Second annual Boston children’s charity ice skating event to be held by Icelandair

The second annual children’s charity ice skating event, ‘Last Bostonian Skating’, is to be held this Saturday, March 3rd, 2012, at the Kendall Square Community Ice Skating Rink in Boston, Massachusetts. The charity event is proudly hosted by Iceland’s leading airline Icelandair.

The goal of the annual event is to bring the local community together in a fun and interactive environment, while raising money and awareness for two great causes – the Icelandair Special Children Travel Fund, and The Children’s Hospital Boston.

Icelandair will be sponsoring a day of free ice skating and skate rentals in order to raise money. Proceeds raised will be used to send a child from The Children’s Hospital Boston, and his or her family, on the trip of a lifetime to Iceland.

Additionally, some of Iceland’s up-and-coming musicians will be performing, including Mugison, Soley, Petur Ben, and Lay Low. Furthermore, the award-winning Icelandic chef Hakon Mar Orvarsson will be cooking up his world famous lamb soup for all those partaking.

The 2012 ‘Last Bostonian Skating’ event, organized in cooperation with A Taste of Iceland, offers up Icelandic music, film and culinary surprises, and much more between 1st and 4th March 2012 at Boston’s Kendall Square Community Ice Skating Rink. Icelandair encourages you to bring your family and friends to enjoy this free ice skating event.
