City of Doral Officials and Codina Partners Celebrate Topping off Ceremony for The New Doral Government Center

DORAL, FLA. – (August 22, 2011) – The City of Doral and boutique real estate investment and development firm Codina Partners recently celebrated a milestone in the construction of the new Doral Government Center with a “topping off” ceremony.  The Doral Government Center is being developed by CM Doral CH Development LLC, associated with Codina Partners, boutique real estate investment and development firm led by Armando Codina.
 
“On time and on budget, the City of Doral is on its way to building a true home for the residents of Doral, and a place for the entire community to gather and enjoy,” said City of Doral Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “This accomplishment is another example of why Doral is a premier place to live, work, learn and play.”
At the ceremony, City of Doral Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez; Vice Mayor Michael “Mike” DiPietro; Councilman Luigi Boria; Councilwoman Ana Maria Rodriguez; Doral City Manager Yvonne Soler-McKinney; K. Lawrence Gragg, president and COO of Codina Partners; Ana-Marie Codina Barlick, director, Codina Partners; and several other executives signed a ceremonial steel beam for the three-story building. The building is expected to be completed by spring 2012.  The “topping off” is traditionally held when a building reaches its height and represents the progress of the development and serves as a token of a positive future.
The 60,000 square-foot Doral Government Center is an up to $22 million development that will be LEED Silver certified.  The construction of the new Doral Government Center was approved unanimously by the Doral City Council on August 11, 2010 and construction began in October 2010.  The building is located on a 1.8 acre site in the vicinity of Northwest 53rd Terrace and 84th Avenue and offers 250 parking spaces in Downtown Doral.

When complete, Doral Government Center will be the centerpiece of Downtown Doral, a mixed-use development featuring residential units, commercial space and an educational component.  The community, destined to be the heart of the city, will also feature a three-acre public park, landscaped medians and a residential boulevard lined with townhouses complemented by beautiful landscaping, fountains and shaded pavilions.
