Awards double for annual report

AkzoNobel’s 2010 Report has received two top honors from the League of American Communications Professionals in its prestigious Annual Report Competition.

The company was presented with a Gold award in the Chemicals category (second overall), while in the Best In-house category (EMEA region, all industries), AkzoNobel was awarded Bronze (fourth overall). The 2010 Report was also ranked as one of the top 100 reports globally for all categories, and in the top 50 in EMEA.

Out of a total of 100 points, the company’s 2010 Report was awarded 98, with the top mark of ten being given for the cover, the letter to shareholders, the report narrative, the report financials, message clarity and information accessibility.

In their comments, the judges made particular reference to the use of tabs, the fold-out cover and the paper selection. “We always have a particular bias in favor of books printed with a unique footprint. Great job,” they added.

More than 800 reports were judged overall, with a total of 5,000 entries being registered for all categories.
