Kate Snow Joins New NBC News Primetime Newsmagazine As Correspondent

NEW YORK - NBC News President Steve Capus announced today that Kate Snow will be moving from “Dateline” to join the team of correspondents for the new primetime magazine hour, effective immediately. The new broadcast, led by “NBC Nightly News” anchor and managing editor Brian Williams, will feature the talented correspondents and anchors of NBC News, MSNBC and CNBC. Snow has been a correspondent for “Dateline” since joining NBC News a year and a half ago. She will continue to serve as a fill-in for Williams on “Nightly News,” and contribute to all platforms of NBC News.

In her new role with the NBC News newsmagazine, Snow will work closely with Senior Executive Producer David Corvo, Executive Producer Rome Hartman, Brian Williams, and the show’s producers.

“Kate’s breadth of experience and previous role on ‘Dateline’ makes her an excellent addition to the new broadcast,” said Capus. “She has a proven track record as a reporter, covering both human interest stories and hard news. Kate brings credibility and integrity to the show and we’re really excited to have her on board.”

Snow has covered breaking news stories such as the earthquake in Japan and the oil spill in the Gulf. She has explored issues affecting parents and children, including a recent “Dateline” special on bullying. Over her career Snow has covered politics, three presidential elections, the White House and Congress.

Prior to NBC News, she was the anchor of the weekend edition of “Good Morning America;” frequently reporting for “Good Morning America,” “World News with Diane Sawyer” and “Nightline.”

Snow is a graduate of Cornell and holds a master’s in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. She serves on the national board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Snow and her husband have two children.
