Juniper Firewalls and Routers Secure More Than 10 Million Users’ Data

SUNNYVALE, Calif., - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that eHarmony has deployed Juniper Networks’ integrated firewall/virtual private network (VPN) appliances and Multiservice edge routers for comprehensive threat and delivery control across its network infrastructure. The deployment marks eHarmony’s transition from an outside managed hosting service to an internally controlled network infrastructure and consolidated datacenter.

“We wanted a firewall solution that could protect the network, and routers that could handle the significant volume of traffic the Web site receives,” said Mark Douglas, vice president Technology, eHarmony. “We made a short list of potential solutions and started at the top with Juniper Networks. We didn’t look any further; Juniper met all of our security and routing needs with best-in-class solutions and support to back it up.”

With its strict set of security requirements, eHarmony chose the Juniper Networks ISG 2000 and NetScreen-50 integrated firewall/VPN appliances to protect its internal Web site and offices from malicious attacks and unwanted access to its internal network. Utilizing the Juniper Networks NetScreen Security Manager (NSM), eHarmony is able to control the VPN and firewall functions of its entire network from one location, ensuring unified threat control across the entire network.

To provide dual gigabit Ethernet connections and support for both current and emerging Layer 2 and Layer 3 services, eHarmony chose the Juniper Networks M7i Multiservice edge routers. With enhanced delivery control, the M7i allows the network to support multiple services on a single IP/MPLS platform letting eHarmony consolidate two separate data storage facilities into a single more efficient data center.
