France: The 1.2.3 Soleil operation in TOTAL motorway stations

WEBWIRE

Available in abundance, emitting little greenhouse gas, suited to various uses: solar power is one of the essential energy solutions to growing energy needs.
To raise customer awareness of solar energy, the 126 TOTAL motorway stations in France are launching the 1.2.3. Soleil operation in France until 17 July 2011.

The 1.2.3. Soleil operation in TOTAL stations
Until 17 July 2011, TOTAL’s motorway stations are running the 1.2.3. Soleil operation. This operation includes an exhibition in stations and a web site dedicated to the operation http://www.1-2-3soleil.com/ (French website).

The exhibition is visible in all TOTAL motorway stations in France. In an animated film, a grain of energy, the playful hero of the film, explains solar power to young people and the stations’ customers. “Solar” packs of cards are handed out free of charge to exhibition-goers.

The animated film can also be viewed on the site http://www.1-2-3soleil.com/ (French website). Web users are invited to play to understand solar power. Several prizes can be won, including a trip to Guadeloupe, weekends in Paris to visit the Energies exhibition at the Cité des Sciences, and solar lights.

Total’s commitment to solar power
To address the twofold challenge of energy and climate change, all energies will be necessary, both fossil and new energies. For Total, actively involved in solar power since the early 80s, this abundant and inexhaustible energy is one of the priorities for the future. Through its involvement in research and the launch of large-scale projects, Total is already positioned as a major player in solar power.
