Miami Orthodontist Says Invisalign News Could Mean Faster Prep Time for Patients

MIAMI, CORAL GABLES, BRICKELL AND MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA - The recent acquisition by Align Technology, Inc. of Cadent Holdings, Inc., a company that leads in intra-oral scanning technology means that soon, there will be a quicker start to treatment for Invisalign patients, says Miami orthodontist ( Dr. Stephen Grussmark.

Align Technology recently acquired the leading provider of 3D digital scanning solutions for the orthodontics and dental industries. This will bring a welcome improvement to many an orthodontist. Miami orthodontist ( Grussmark looks forward to having the new technology in his office.
“This means that eventually, orthodontists will scan the patient’s mouth and send the results electronically to Invisalign, rather than having to take an impression and ship it,” says Grussmark, a Miami Invisalign ( Elite Preferred Provider. “That means the aligners can be made more quickly, and treatment can begin sooner for the patient.”

Grussmark says it is common after sending an impression to learn that a tooth was not captured well. At that point, the patient must return for a retake.

“With Cadent, we will be able to determine that immediately, and we will be able to capture all of the teeth- including the back teeth that often are not easily captured in the current impression method,” he says.

This technology will save time in other areas, as well, says Grussmark, whose Miami orthodontics ( practice, Centre for Invisible Braces, specializes in Invisalign treatment.

Getting impressions to the Invisalign immediately means production time will be greatly reduced. Eliminating the need to take impressions means that chair time for the patient and the doctor also will be greatly reduced.

“Patients have busy schedules, so anything that quickens the treatment process is favorable,” Grussmark says.
