Alabama Genealogy to Start Newsletter
Alabama-Genealogy.net has opened up registrations for a newsletter. Starting earlier this week, users can register to receive the Alabama Genealogy newsletter which will cover topics related to Alabama History and Genealogy. The first newsletter will not be coming immediately, but is expected to be sent out sometime during the summer of 2011.
The site owner, Avery Parker is quoted as saying “This has been planned from the start, the start of the newsletter for Alabama Genealogy is a nice milestone for our progress with the site. We have a lot of plans for this site and the newsletter was the next thing we wanted to get started. Future plans include a forum where users can post queries related to Alabama Genealogy research specific to locales within the state. We have our work cut out for us, but are constantly looking at ways to improve the sites resources and offerings.”
Genealogy is the research of family history or ancestry and is one of the more popular hobbies today. The Internet has accelerated interest in family history as the resources necessary for research are easier to access than ever before. Alabama-Genealogy.net specializes in organizing the genealogy resources available for the state of Alabama and its 67 extant counties.
Alabama-Genealogy.net has been around since 2010 providing resources and information on history and genealogy as it relates to Alabama and it’s 67 counties. The website belongs to a network of genealogy sites that trace their roots to a site created around 1993 which was geared towards Western North Carolina Genealogy and then gradually grew to encompass resources related to the entire state of North Carolina. A South Carolina Genealogy site soon followed and other states are currently works in progress.
