Publishing Company To Publish Novel Against Abortion
E-web Publications Ltd has turned to new fiction and has announced the publication of a new novel with a strong message against abortion. ‘Foetal Distress’ by Mike King explores the subject of abortion from a man’s perspective and is scheduled to be published on 16th February 2011.
The author Mike King (www.michaelking.biz/about) has written a number of other books but this is his first novel. Mike said “I only write on subjects that touch me and which carry a message. For me, abortion is one of the major issues in our society as its moral implications define who we are and reflect our aspirations for ourselves as a society and as a species.”
Few issues divide society in the way that abortion does, yet few novels are written about the subject. Abortion is a disturbing theme and Mike’s work is a brave attempt to break with this tradition of abortion as a subject not suited to fiction. Currently most abortion stories are of the real-life variety and involve short time periods, thus failing to deliver a complete picture. By exploring the subject within the confines of a novel ‘Foetal Distress’ allows for a more complete abortion story.
Although ‘Foetal Distress’ is primarily centred around the issues raised by the widespread tolerance of abortion that currently permeate Western society, that is not the only theme. Interwoven into the story is the role of music in our individual interpretation of events in our own individual lives, from how popular romantic music distorts our sense of reality to how other music provides a conduit through which we channel how we feel.
