US Power Services Company Wins the Contract to Install Power Factor Correction Capacitors at Stephen F. Austin University

KNOXVILLE, TN (January 27, 2011) – U.S. Power Services company (USPSC) recently won the contract to install power factor correction capacitors at Stephen F. Austin University. Like many other commercial customers today, SFA was looking to save money on their energy costs and chose to make the investment in power factor correction. It took approximately a week for USPSC to install the capacitors in 11 of the buildings on the campus which will save SFA over $86,000 annually in energy costs. More news on USPSC at:

Stephen F. Austin University is located in Nacogdoches, Texas where it has been providing students with quality educational services for over 85 years. SFA is a fully credited university that caters to the needs of students in many different academic fields and offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees.

When SFA chose to install power factor correction capacitors, they were looking toward the future in not only cost savings but also being able to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emissions that were going into the air. This was possible after USPSC installed the capacitators which were then able to increase the efficiency of SFA’s current electrical system thus creating the substantial savings in energy for the university.

Understanding power factor correction is simple and involves a company being able to increase the efficiency of the electrical power it uses. The equipment of commercial customers typically runs at approximately 75 - 85 percent efficiency. With power factor correction those same customers are able to operate their equipment at close to 100 percent efficiency thus reducing the amount of power necessary to perform the same job.

U.S. Power Services Company is one of the leading providers of power factor correction with a team that has over 18 years of experience. They have been successful in helping both small companies and large Fortune 500 companies create more efficient energy services while helping them reduce the amount of carbon emissions that enter the atmosphere. They have helped thousands of customers save literally millions of dollars in energy costs. Companies or Universities may request a free cost savings analysis at:
