WEBWIRE

MARINA DEL REY, CA -- Feb. 1, 2005 -- CinemaNow Inc., the leader in video-on-demand for broadband, today announced it has entered into an agreement with NBC Universal to deliver first-run pay-per-view and library titles, including movies and television event programming, on a streaming basis via the CinemaNow Web site, www.cinemanow.com. NBC Universal joins a growing list of content providers who make their video content available through CinemaNow’s video-on-demand service, including 20th Century Fox, Disney, Lions Gate, MGM, Sony, Warner Bros., and over 200 other licensors.

“With distribution rights to more than 6,500 titles, CinemaNow offers consumers the most extensive collection of video content available on-demand via broadband distribution,” said Jeff Briller, vice president of acquisitions, CinemaNow. “Compelling content will continue to play a vital role in the mainstream adoption of broadband delivered video-on-demand and we are thrilled to add NBC Universal’s distinct and high-quality programming to our service.”

As part of the agreement, and along with previously released movies and pay-per-view television programming from NBC Universal’s expansive video library, CinemaNow will offer NBC Universal’s new release films on the same day they become available in their traditional pay-per-view window. The first title from Universal currently offered by CinemaNow is the spy thriller “The Bourne Supremacy,” starring Matt Damon. All titles will be made available for streaming on a 24-hour rental basis.

“NBC Universal believes in the great potential that broadband has in the distribution of content,” said Jean-Briac Perrette, Senior Vice President, NBC Universal Cable. “Working with CinemaNow will help broaden the exposure of our films and provide their customers with a quick and simple way to access NBC Universal’s world-class content.”
