Singapore Top Illusionists to Give Five People a Chance to Disappear
On 12 Dec 2010, five people will be given the experience of a lifetime when “Singapore’s Celebrity Magic Duo” (Channel News Asia), J C Sum & ‘Magic Babe’ Ning, make them vanish while elevated 20ft high up in the air in the duo’s latest mega illusion stunt.
Entitled “The Aerial Exit”, the illusion is the grand finale of the National Heritage Board’s 2010 “Explore Singapore” campaign.
J C & Ning have been chosen as the faces of this year’s “Explore Singapore” campaign and as ambassadors for the campaign, they will bring their brand of magic to different museums in Singapore over a four-week period.
The 2009 Merlin Award winners for “Most Original Illusionists of the Year” are well known for their innovative illusions such as teleporting people & cars over great distances as well as setting a world magic record and successfully predicting the national 4D lottery. The Straits Times, AXN Asia and Magicseen Magazine also acknowledge J C & Ning as one of the very top illusion teams in the world.
“The Aerial Exit” is the first mega illusion that J C & Ning will attempt that takes place in the air.
Ning highlights: “We broke the rules of stage illusions when we first took illusions out of the confined theatre setting and to the outdoors in uncontrollable surrounded environments. Now, we are pushing the envelope even further by taking the illusion off the stage and into the air!”
J C, who also designed the original illusion, comments: “The illusion methodology & techniques employed in this mega illusion are completely different from our previous stunts. The fact that we are attempting the illusion with five untrained people from the general public makes it even more challenging.”
Members of the public are invited to sign up at for a chance to be one of five people to disappear in the mega illusion at www.museums.com.sg/es10. The closing date for submission is 2 Dec 2010.
The mega illusion will be held on 12 Dec 2010, Sun, 5pm at the Asian Civilizations Museum, 1 Empress Place, Singapore. The event is free and open to the public. Spectators are invited to watch the mega illusion from any vantage point and photograph or video record the entire stunt.
