TestAmerica Speaks on Environmental Monitoring of Natural Gas Drilling Operations at the 2nd Annual DUG East Conference

WEBWIRE

Dr. Jack Tuschall, TestAmerica’s General Manager, will present on the challenges of designing and conducting analytical monitoring of hydraulic fracturing drilling sites at the 2010 Developing Unconventional Gas (DUG) East Conference & Exhibition. The presentation will be given on November 4, 2010 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The aspects of hydraulic fracturing are a growing environmental and legal liability, requiring sound analytical data to support responsible drilling activities. Environmental monitoring data are frequently subject to challenges by government and private interests, thus a sound, quality based analytical program is a necessity. Under the Stakeholders’ Roundtable: Protect and Produce session, Dr. Tuschall will review the common challenges of gathering and analyzing pertinent data for drilling sites that employ hydraulic fracturing. The presentation will also evaluate the four factors required to ensure that drilling operations meet the objectives of optimizing shale plays and sustaining land use, while avoiding added costs in unnecessary analytical work.

Dr. Tuschall has more than 25 years of extensive experience in managing full-service analytical laboratories and analytical methods development. In a previous role as TestAmerica’s Program Director—LIMS and Best Practices, Dr. Tuschall developed appropriate company-wide interfaces and programs, driving best practices throughout TestAmerica.
