The interview is posted on you tube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os0iKeRZLzM Mr. Westerfield spoke at length on various issues, such as the unusual DWAI (driving while ability impaired) law that covers drivers who have blood alcohol levels (BAC) of 0.05 – 0.079, and the mandatory jail time that comes with a DUI (even a first time DUI) for those that have a BAC greater than 0.20.

“I’ve done over a dozen interviews of DUI attorneys, and you’d think that it would start to become boring, but it’s been anything but that, especially with some of the unique and informative insights Zach Westerfield told me.” says Richard Jacobs, marketing director of myDUIattorney.org and interviewer.

Perhaps the most interesting insight Colorado DUI attorney Westerfield gave was that many local bars serve bottled beer either in short or long neck sizes, both of which are far larger than the standard 12 oz drink that people think of when mentally computing their BAC.

“…The short neck bottled beer is typically 16 oz and the long neck is 25 oz…If you’ve had 2 long neck beers thinking that you’ve had 2 drinks, you’d be seriously mistaken. In fact, 2 25oz long neck beers equals 50 oz of beer, which is over 4 drinks, not 2…” notes Zach Westerfield.

This fact, although it appears simple on the surface, may be a bombshell revelation to drinkers at bars.

“Being unaware of how much alcohol you’re actually consuming was a huge insight for me, as I’m sure it is for most people. And don’t forget ‘pints’ of draft beer, which can be 20 oz.” notes Richard Jacobs.
