Jobster and JobCentral Partner to Deliver Powerful Online Job Search

WEBWIRE

SEATTLE — Jobster Inc. today announced a partnership with the DirectEmployers Association Inc, a nonprofit organization that operates the JobCentral National Employment Network. This partnership will aid in providing job seekers with access to millions of continuously updated job listings from all across the Web. Jobster.com visitors will now find job opportunities from more than 750 companies that are part of JobCentral. Over 70 percent of the jobs listed on JobCentral cannot be found on traditional Internet job-listing sites. Likewise, JobCentral visitors can now access all of the Jobster.com job listings found across the Web through JobCentral’s Web search tool.

DirectEmployers Association, a nonprofit, helps corporations increase their recruiting reach through online programs. The partnership represents the first step in Jobster and DirectEmployers working together to provide the most effective online tools to help both job seekers and recruiters. As a result, Jobster will extend the audience of job seekers visiting employers’ Web sites, which is found to be one of the most important sources of candidates. Jobster also has social networking and referral tools to help companies find hidden, passive candidates that they wouldn’t find through traditional methods.

A recent study by DirectEmployers found that recruiters consider the top three sources of candidates to be referrals, social networking sites, and their own company Web sites. Referrals, which are the core component of Jobster’s employer offering, were considered the most effective. Not surprisingly, the study also reported that recruiting budgets will shift to focus most on these more effective sourcing tools in 2006.

“The best people I have hired came through somebody I knew — a referral. The job found them,” said Jason Goldberg, CEO of Jobster. “Jobster brings that same referral and social networking process online. That’s what makes Jobster different from the job boards. With our technology, jobs find their way to the right person, even if that person is not actively searching job sites.”

“Corporate recruiters want access to the highest-quality applicants and they are eager to learn more innovative ways of reaching these candidates,” said Bill Warren, executive director for DirectEmployers Association. “Jobster has demonstrated success in that area, and we look forward to working together to bring their thought leadership to improve the effectiveness of our members’ recruitment efforts.”

Jobster is one of the fastest-growing job search sites on the Internet. More than 2 million jobs searches are conducted monthly, and job seekers get one-stop access to millions of jobs from across the Web. With Jobster, job seekers get simple, powerful tools to help them get positions through online referrals using social networking technology.
