WEBWIRE

DirectRooms.com announces the date for the annual Paris ET Region Parisienne road race, scheduled for September 26th, 2010.

The 16 kilometre race traces a route through the streets of Paris, Meudon, and Versailles, with runners crossing the finish line directly opposite the spectacular palace at Versailles.

The race begins at 10am with the departure of all international runners. Starting at 10:01am, remaining runners will be released in waves of 350 individuals per minute until all runners have crossed the starting line.

There is no running order for the race, and participants are released on a first come, first departure basis.

The ultimate departure time limit is 11am, regardless of the number of participants. Any participants who have not begun racing by that time will not be allowed to enter the course.

The Paris ET Region Parisienne road race is open to spectators, and there is no charge to watch the race.

For easy access to the course, take the RER Line C from the Champs de Mars station in Paris or the Versailles Chateau station in Versailles.

This event is organised by the Paris-Versailles Association, a non-profit group founded in 1979 whose mission is to oversee the race.

Many of the best hotels Paris (http://directrooms.com/france/hotels/paris-hotels/price1.htm) has to offer will be full of runners for this popular event, so travellers planning to visit the city during late September are encouraged to book accommodation early.
