Judge Hellerstein To Speak At Town Hall Meetings For WTC Plaintiffs

For immediate release: New York, NY, July 20, 2010: Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein, the United States District Court Judge who has overseen the In re: World Trade Center Disaster Site Litigations since 2003, will appear at two “Town Hall Meetings” to address the issues and concerns many of the claimants have about the pending settlement of their claims against the City of New York and its Contractors. The court-appointed Settlement Claims Allocation Neutral, Matthew Garretson, Esq. and the court-appointed Claims Appeal Neutral, Kenneth Feinberg, Esq., will appear and offer their thoughts about the Settlement. Plaintiffs’ counsel will also speak at the meetings.

The first meeting will be held on July 26, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Michael Petrides School, located at 715 Ocean Terrace, Building “C”, Staten Island, New York. The second meeting will be held on August 3, 2010, also from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Criminal Term, County of Queens. The Supreme Court building is located at 125-01 Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens, New York.

Plaintiffs who are eligible to opt-in to the Settlement approved by the Court on June 23, 2010 are invited to attend. The meetings will be open to the public, but first preference for the limited space in both meeting rooms will be given to actual plaintiffs in the cases.
