The Co-operative Reaches Top of the Shops in Recent Supermarket Survey

A recent survey by Supermarkettownbrandguide.com has revealed that The Co-operative Group’s Co-operative Food supermarket chain has beaten the rest of ‘The Big Five’ Supermarket chains to take top spot.

The survey carried out by the site owned by Martin Isark is known for reviewing and comparing supermarket own brand products from many major retailers in the UK. The categories that the survey included were:
• Range of Products
• Shopping Experience
• Value For Money
• Labelling
• Staff

The Co-operative’s supermarkets are well known for taking their customers’ views in high regard with such measures like electronic surveys at the till that feedback the customer’s opinions on factors such as store cleanliness and labelling that have helped to fine tune the overall shopping experience at all Co-operative branches.

This attention to detail has clearly helped as Mr Isark has commented that, “The Co-operative’s newly refurbished shops are a delight to shop in” he had also commented on how the visible nutritional and allergen information on their labelling as well as the overall quality of the Co-operative’s own brand products compete well with leading brands.

The survey results are the latest in a long line of awards and accolades from within the retail industry such as becoming Responsible Retailer of the Year for the third year running in 2010 and the Convenience Chain of The Year both in 2008 and 2009.
