New Transmedia Company Teams Veteran Producers, Financiers Advised by Robert Evans

Film Bridge International to Handle Foreign Sales

LOS ANGELES, CA – May 5, 2010 – Hot on the heels of the recent recognition of “transmedia” as a new production credit by the Producers’ Guild of America, veteran producer Robert Evans and award winning producer Henri Kessler, with partners Liam Weir, Layne Bednar and Steaphan Weir have founded a company that capitalizes on the transmedia strategy of growing intellectual properties: Pacific Transmedia Corporation (“PTC”)--a new “transmedia” company and film fund. True to its moniker, PTC develops, finances, and produces intellectual properties across multiple platforms: filmed entertainment, video games, games, books, music, mobile applications, toys, merchandising and associated markets with continuity.

In announcing the new company, Kessler has also announced PTC’s first production: UFO. Based on the 1970 British TV series and in partnership with the rights holders, British Broadcaster ITV Global, the film, to be directed by Matthew Gratzner, is budgeted at $130 million. Principal photography on UFO will commence in November 2010 in various locations in the UK as a qualified British film. On the filmed entertainment side, PTC’s goal is to produce two to three films per year over the next five to six years, with two expected to be filmed in 2010.

PTC has a continuous focus on raising capital. After initial funding through private investment, PTC plans to tap public capital markets through a primary public offering and expects to be traded on the NASDAQ. The company is expected to deploy up to $350 MM in a combination of debt and equity for production and P&A.

“Our eyes are on the future of entertainment,” says Kessler. “So much of filmed entertainment today is so much more than film; they are franchises, multimedia entertainment and marketing platforms. With the emergence of transmedia as a viable trajectory, Pacific Transmedia plans to have a basis in film with a complete transmedia component, complemented with our own P&A.”

Henri M. Kessler has more than 25 years of cross-platform entertainment industry experience that ideally suits him to be the President of PTC.

“We are delighted to be in business together,” says Kessler of his partners Weir, Bednar and Weir, who come from the M&A world. Weir replies, “Henri and I play to each other’s strengths, together, we’re hoping to make PTC a potent force in 21st’century transmedia production.”
PTC has named Ellen Wander of Film Bridge International (“FBI”) to handle foreign sales for PTC. Both an independent producer & a foreign sales agent, FBI acts as representative and Executive Producer for motion pictures and television programs produced and distributed around the world. The Los Angeles based company participates in all principal international film, television and video festivals and markets. FBI has represented films from celebrated international and Academy Award®-acclaimed directors as Pedro Almodovar, Jose Luis Garci, Jan Sverak, Paul Verhoeven, Fred Schepisi and John McTiernan. FBI has recently begun to expand its feature film business, overseeing the financing for the WW II courtroom drama, BEAST OF BATAAN and producing DOLAN’S CADILLAC, a thriller based on a short story by Stephen King starring Christian Slater and Wes Bentley.
Wander expects sales of UFO and other PTC projects to be brisk when they first offer them to buyers at Cannes beginning next week. They are: ANIKA, directed by Eric Watson as his directorial debut, written by Ramon Fernandez; and NYC2123 based on the Playstation graphic novel created by Chad & Paco Allen, screenplay written by John Hampian and Daniel Ortiz;. She concludes, “We’re very excited to have these first films from PTC for foreign sales. It’s the first of what we hope will be many films we’ll be working on together.”
