The Museum at Bethel Woods in Bethel, New York, which includes numerous audio visual exhibits integrated by McCann Systems, received the 2009 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement in the museum category. The annual award, presented by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), recognizes international excellence in the creation and production of outstanding visitor experiences, attractions, and exhibits.

During the two-year project, McCann Systems worked alongside a team of Bethel Woods developers, museum designers and their consultants. McCann Systems successfully integrated of all interactive displays, audio, video and AV control systems within the 10,000 square foot museum.

The Thea Award committee commended The Museum at Bethel Woods for the high quality of its exhibits and noted its “expert use of a wide variety of exhibit tools and techniques by which visitors are drawn deep into the events.”

The museum’s permanent exhibition depicts the social, political and cultural transformation of the 1960’s and sets the stage for the greatest of all rock concerts. Through immersive multimedia exhibits and interactive displays, McCann Systems helped to bring this monumental moment in history to life and congratulates the Museum at Bethel Woods for receiving this prestigious award.
