PEZ® Collectors leaving eBay – it’s no myth!

PEZ® collectors have a new home at eBid, the largest and most established eBay alternative with free listings, zero or low selling fees and a vibrant international community spanning the US and Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australasia.

The urban myth that eBay was started by Pierre Omidyar to help his girlfriend find collectible PEZ® dispensers has lived for over a decade. Today, the reality is that enthusiasts are rapidly moving to eBid.

PEZ® enthusiast and collector for over 20 years, Richie Belyski from South Carolina, moved from eBay due to their high listing fees at the beginning of the year. Richie, the editor of PEZ® Collectors News (www.PezCollectorsNews.com) and organizer of US PEZ® collector conventions says: “eBid is growing rapidly and is very easy to use. No listing fees, low selling fees and free dealer stores make it a great place to connect with others and to make a profit. I’m urging all PEZ® collectors to join eBid.”

This month, eBid unveils a new site design along with hundreds of technical upgrades and enhancements to make the site quicker, slicker and easier to use together with a promise of no more auction fees ever for a one off payment of $49.49 special offer.
The highly anticipated changes include fashionable colors, intuitive navigation and simple functionality changes. Among these, eBid releases its proprietary ‘Ninja Lister’ application to dynamically enable offline auction creation and ease the transfer of auctions from other sites. Additionally, the site is expanding shipping options in the US with the inclusion of Fedex. Members now have three options - Fedex, UPS and USPS.

Mark Wilkinson, eBid co-founder says: “We are delighted to welcome the PEZ® Collectors Community to eBid. We’ve been in business over ten years and in an ever changing e-commerce online environment, this validates that we are moving in the right direction. Our competitors’ members are joining us in droves and this influx demonstrates our ongoing commitment to continually improve.”

In October 2009, after becoming one of only three inaugural partners in Google’s new Product Search Marketplace Partner Program, which enables online shoppers to have up-to-date information to make smart buying decisions, eBid grew 16% month on month and since officially launching in the US in September 08 after beta testing, eBid has grown from 1.3 million live auctions to 3 million with 10,000 live stores.
