Syrma Technology Joins the DASH7 Alliance

WEBWIRE

Chennai India; January 25, 2010: Syrma Technology, an EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) partner and specialist in design and manufacturing of custom RFID tag solutions, announced today that it has joined the DASH7 Alliance.

The DASH7 Alliance is a newly formed wireless industry consortium with the shared goals of making wireless devices based on the ISO 18000-7 (DASH7) standard more accessible to greater numbers of people and organizations, emphasizing DASH7’s low-power and scalability, and cultivating a global network of DASH7 ecosystem partners.

DASH7 is essentially an active RFID air interface technology, and Syrma Technology brings many years of experience in RFID product engineering and manufacturing technology that has enabled many new RFID solutions. The addition of DASH7 technology expands the capabilities that Syrma Technology brings to the table in support of its OEM customer base in launching new solutions to market. Syrma Technology offers building block engineering, manufacturing and testing services that enable OEMs to more effectively deploy DASH7 technology in new RFID and M-to-M communication products.

DASH7 is a new wireless sensor networking technology that evolved from a combination of existing radio-frequency identification and sensing technologies. Products with DASH7 capability built-in or attached to them will dramatically simplify the way we keep in touch with the “non-human” world around us, improving the wireless communications capabilities of a wide range of mobile devices.

Syrma’s present RFID product offerings include passive tags and transponders in 125 KHz and 13.56 MHz frequencies. All RFID and tag solutions are produced in a flexible capacity manufacturing model, enabling support of low-volume custom tag requirements to mid / high-volume applications.

N.G. Sreedharan, Syrma Technology Engineering General Manager commented, “Participation in the DASH7 Alliance will enable expansion of our RFID tag solutions to include DASH7- based technology products. Participating in the DASH7 Alliance will greatly enhance our ability to lead our customers in introducing this exciting technology. We are also proud to be the first India-based participant in the alliance and we look forwards to helping promote adoption of the DASH7 technology in the region.”
”We are excited that Syrma Technology has joined the DASH7 Alliance’s growing roster of industry leaders,” said Patrick Burns, president of the DASH7 Alliance. “Our mission is to make the benefits of DASH7 wireless sensor networking a reality for government and commercial organizations throughout the world in 2010.”
