Faded Splendour Announces Free Knitting Patterns For Download
Free expired copyright vintage knitting patterns which are in the public domain and therefore free to copy are now easier to find with a new service from http://www.fadedsplendour.com.
A quick look at their website shows a vast number of vintage knitting patterns in every style and design from ladies clothing to wooly toys, patterns date from the victorian times through to the 1940’s. All are available to download for free.
The sites online creator when interviewed said “ We love collecting and knitting from original vintage knitting patterns, as do lots of our users. When we originally started collecting over 20 years ago you could purchase a vintage knitting pattern for only a few cents, but now as they have become more scarce prices have rocketed with desirable patterns selling for over $40. We found more and more of our friends, both on and offline were asking to make copies of our original patterns for there own use. This was when the idea of adding free patterns to our vintage clothing and textiles website was born.”
All the free patterns at http://www.fadedsplendour.com are available to legally download for free as the copyright has expired, making them public domain. New patterns are added twice weekly and there is a mailing list subscription and rss feed available to ensure users are kept up to date with newly added patterns. The site is very user friendly and encourages other users to ’get involved’ request patterns and suggest improvements.
