San Antonio, Texas, March 2, 2006, Hong Kong - AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner in the Leaders Quadrant in the “Magic Quadrant for Asia/Pacific Network Service Providers (NSPs), 2005” report. The report evaluates 13 Asia Pacific NSPs on the criteria of ability to execute and completeness of vision.

This Magic Quadrant evaluates network service providers that provide international telecommunications services to multinational corporations (MNCs) with panregional networks in Asia Pacific. According to the Gartner report, leaders demonstrate strong vision, especially in terms of defining future market needs. They back their vision by investing ahead of competitors, very often in new or unproven areas, and are generally well-positioned for the future. The report states that high marks are given to service providers that go the extra mile to deliver superior service quality through their regional network, local service and support, and service-level commitments. This year, Gartner also put special emphasis on delivering superior connectivity to and within China and India, the most important markets in this region.

Steve Lowe, vice president of AT&T Business, Asia Pacific said “AT&T’s staff across the region has not been distracted by the merger with SBC following last year’s report but has continued to strive for excellence in every facet of the business and customer service.”

AT&T has global IP-based network capabilities, assets, and resources that are widely regarded as unsurpassed in the marketplace, creating the potential to unleash new IP innovations that neither company could have accomplished independently.

Through its subsidiaries and affiliates, AT&T Inc. is the largest telecommunications company in the United States and one of the largest in the world. The combined company is the largest U.S. provider of high speed DSL Internet services and local and long distance voice services and is the No. 1 provider of data services to the Fortune 1000. The new AT&T owns 60 percent of Cingular Wireless, which is the No. 1 U.S. wireless services provider.
