January 12 (Los Angeles) ---- On a January 7 broadcast of the “Behind the Scenes” television program, Paul Crouch Sr., founder of the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), presented a $10,000 check from TBN to the “H.O.P.E. For Life Foundation.” The gift from America’s most watched religious network will go towards the 2005 Los Angeles “Community Day,” which takes place on January 15.

“TBN is proud to stand with the leaders of Los Angeles to promote Community Day,” declares Crouch. “This event helps thousands of people and we want to do what we can to contribute to its success.”

Community Day is an annual event established to share with the community many of the necessities of life. Events at Community Day include a job fair, a car give-away, a home buyers expo, a massive food give-away, a health forum, literacy awareness, and youth empowerment. Community Day also brings together established entrepreneurs who offer a myriad of goods and services related to employment, health care and other important community areas. Between 30,000 and 40,000 people are expected to attend Community Day.

Accepting the $10,000 contribution from TBN on behalf of the “H.O.P.E. For Life Foundation” was Los Angeles County Sheriff, Lee Baca. Sheriff Baca is the head of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department and a co-sponsor of the Community Day event. Also on hand for the presentation of the donation was U.S. Congressman Dana Rohrbacher of the 46th District in California and Bishop Edward Turner, the founder of Community Day and pastor of Love Christian Fellowship in Los Angeles.

“It is a wonderful thing when leaders from law enforcement, Congress, and faith based organizations can gather together for the purpose of helping our community,” says Crouch.

Community Day will take place on Saturday January 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Department of Public Social Services Building at 1326 West Imperial Highway, Los Angeles, CA 90044.
