Motorola Announces New Country President for Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Motorola Inc., (NYSE: MOT) today announced the appointment of En. Mohd Rauf Nasir as the new Country President for Motorola group of companies in Malaysia effective 1st July 2009.

In this role, Mohd Rauf will lead with the country team to further strengthen Motorola’s business presence in Malaysia as a key employer, trusted technology partner and long term investor. In addition, Mohd Rauf will also assume the position of Malaysia Systems Sales Director for Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility Solutions (EMS) business, overseeing the sales operations for the government and public safety sectors.

The Motorola EMS government and public safety business provides mission-critical and business-critical solutions ranging from two-way radio communications products and systems, wireless broadband solutions to an array of mobile computing devices for the government and enterprise segments.

Prior to joining Motorola, Mohd Rauf was heading the ASEAN Telco Center of Excellence in IBM Malaysia Sdn Bhd and was responsible for growing IBM’s business solution in the ASEAN region. He was also the General Manager, Communications Sector of IBM in 2006 for three years where he led a team of sales professionals to expand IBM’s offering to the telecommunications sector which has resulted in achieving a triple-digit growth of company’s revenue. His most significant contribution was securing one of the largest IT outsourcing deal from the telecommunications industry in Malaysia.

He was also a Certified Sales Professional, an elite sales group within IBM awarded to outstanding top achievers in recognition of their excellent performance and completion of an executive program at the Harvard Business School.

With over 19 years of experience in the IT industry, Mohd Rauf has previously held several management positions in the sales division serving various industries such as the public sector, healthcare, government, defense and communications.

He started his career as a System Engineer in IBM Malaysia in 1990 for five years and since then has moved his career to overseeing sales for the last 14 years. Mohd Rauf holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from New South Wales University, Australia.
