AT&T Connects NCAA Baseball Fans with Baseball Legends, NCAA Teams, High Speed Interactive Activities, and Text Alerts

Dallas, Texas, It’s college baseball. Delivered. Starting today, AT&T* is connecting baseball fans at the 2009 NCAA Men’s College World Series® in Omaha to events with sports celebrities, NCAA College World Series baseball student-athletes, high speed interactive stations outside the Rosenblatt Stadium — and text messaging.

Connecting with Fans in Omaha

AT&T launches the celebration for the 2009 NCAA Men’s College World Series® games at the College World Series Fan Fest, a free interactive area located in the southwest parking lot of Rosenblatt Stadium during the games. The Speed Zone, AT&T’s interactive station, will be active inside Fan Fest today through Monday, June 15. Speed Zone offers fans an opportunity to meet some of their favorite baseball legends and participate in AT&T’s interactive stations, including:

* You Make The Call: Fans put their broadcasting skills to the test as they deliver play-by-play highlights for some of the most thrilling moments in collegiate baseball.
* AT&T Navigator Competition: Fans race to find the distance to each of the competing teams’ campuses, the quickest route to local Omaha landmarks and the best-priced gasoline within five miles... all by using AT&T Navigator.
* Photo Station: AT&T provides fans with a customized, commemorative photo that features them inside at the games, whether they are in the stadium or not.
* Autographs: AT&T is hosting Autograph Sessions Friday through Sunday with baseball greats Joe Carter, Rollie Fingers, Carlton Fisk, Joe Morgan, and Dale Murphy in the Speed Zone and AT&T retail locations in Omaha.**
* Mobile TV Live Bar: AT&T is providing wireless devices, connected to a “live bar,” so fans can watch live TV, including select College World Series games, for free.

“At AT&T, we care about providing real-world opportunities and technology applications that give fans more ways to enjoy the sports — and the games — we sponsor,” said Tim McGhee, executive director, AT&T Corporate Sponsorships. “Our work with the NCAA Men’s World Series and the other events we support is an important way that we reach customers, sports fans and sports organizations across our service footprint. If we can drive added value to these folks through the tools and opportunities we provide, we are extending the reach of who we are and what we do. That’s important to us.”

On The Field/In the Stadium

Baseball fans will also have the chance to meet this year’s College World Series teams, through the AT&T Team Autograph Sessions. After Friday team practices, fans will have the opportunity to meet their favorite players for free and receive their autographs on a commemorative card in the concourse at Rosenblatt Stadium, sponsored by AT&T.

On Sunday, June 14, AT&T is also extending the college baseball excitement by inviting members of the Omaha Boys & Girls Club to play a game of catch with their fathers in the outfield of the stadium. These same youths and their parents will enjoy tickets to the game and a behind-the-scenes tour of the venue, compliments of AT&T.

Text Updates

Whether they attend the games or just want to stay in tune with their favorite teams, AT&T is extending the series to wireless users of any carrier via the AT&T College World Series Text Alerts Program.*** College World Series attendees will be encouraged to sign up for CWS alerts on their handsets (Text MCWS to 345345) or online at www.ncaa.com. Fans who opt in for the text alerts program will receive daily text messages with ticket release specials, AT&T autograph appearance schedules, and final game/advancement notices.
