* Time savings and improved profitability for seed partners
* Broad effectiveness and best crop compatibility for farmers

BASF today presented its new cereal seed treatment Rubin® TT to German retailers and the media in Cologne. Rubin® TT, the successor of Rubin®, was developed in an intensive exchange between BASF and the seed industry.

With Rubin® TT, farmers can control all important soil- and seed-borne pathogens in cereals with the best crop compatibility to ensure uniform, healthy stands right from the start. The new formulation includes the active ingredient triticonazole. It does supports the seedlings or young plants without damage, and it provides a continuous uptake of the active substance into the leaf tissue, thus reducing attack by foliar diseases. The accurate distribution of the active ingredient on the seeds provides the highest levels of effectiveness.

The new and improved formulation of Rubin® TT brings high throughput and easy application in all kinds of seed treatment facilities (equipment). This means time savings and increased profitability for seed treaters.

“The seed treatment experts at our demonstrations were convinced by the very good treatment characteristics and the improved flowability of Rubin® TT,” is how Dr. Andreas Landes, head of BASF’s Seed Solutions Center, describes his exchange with customers throughout Germany.

Products from the BASF’s Seed Solutions pipeline combine outstanding protection with best seed vitality and innovative technology, thus fulfilling the needs of both farmers and the seed industry partners. BASF can bring this breakthrough innovation to the table because it harnesses scientific advances from other BASF divisions to further improve its solutions for seeds. For example: New coatings developed for car manufactures or encapsulation technologies created for the pharmaceutical industry can be tailored to bring advanced science to seed customers and growers.
