GLUTEX Sanitizers from Dow Microbial Control for Use Against H1N1 Virus

Buffalo Grove, IL - The recent reported cases of “swine influenza” have been identified as a new Influenza Type A strain of H1N1 , combining genetic material from avian, swine and human influenza*.

Influenza A viruses change frequently, and proprietary formulated GLUTEX Sanitizers have been proven efficacious against other Influenza Type A Viruses such as Avian Influenza Virus strain H6N2 and the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HAPI) strain H5N1.

As announced by the EPA on May 4, 2009:

“EPA believes, based on available scientific information, that the currently registered influenza A virus products will be effective against the 2009-H1N1 flu strain and other influenza A virus strains on hard, non-porous surfaces. In fact based on lab results, the GLUTEX GS2 Sanitizer shows one of the lowest corrosion rates to a variety of commonly-found farm use metals, making it particularly effective for use on industrial equipment and farm vehicles. Glutaraldehyde is one of the few biocides that meets criteria to be called readily biodegradable (OECD 301 A and 306 guidelines).
