Little Prices Does Not Mean Little Policies

Health-on-Line, the online Private Medical Insurance (PMI) company, has today announced a reduction in the core premium of their modular product, Personal Choice.

Mike Dalby, Director of Health-on-Line, comments, “In the current climate of financial uncertainty we recognise the need to provide support to those who value the protection that private medical insurance can offer, but are conscious of existing financial commitments. The reduction of our core rates will see us emerge stronger within the ‘budget’ market.”

Historically Health-on-Line have concentrated on providing more competitive pricing in the comprehensive market. The design of their modular product allowed consumers to tailor a plan to meet their needs by adding Options to the core benefits known as Essential Cover. This core benefit covers some of the main costs associated with admittance to hospital and on its own constitutes a basic PMI plan, if a consumer wishes to add other Options such as out-patient consultations or therapies for example, they are able to. Each Option attracts a specific premium load thus allowing the consumer to tailor a plan to their needs or budget.

Health-on-Line has maintained the current pricing when adding the top up Options by increasing the associated premium load. Mike Dalby explains, “We wanted to provide a competitively priced basic policy which would allow a host of individuals to access private medical insurance by making it more affordable. Those individuals who wish to purchase a comprehensive plan will still be able to benefit from our competitive premiums.”

Dalby concludes, “At a time when living expenses are increasing all the time, we are proud to be able to offer consumers a reduced rate on their basic PMI plan. We believe this will enable individuals to access private healthcare when needed at an affordable rate. We haven’t reduced the cover available, we’ve simply reduced the price!”
